Chief Operating Officer
Richard Figueroa is the Chief Operating Officer for Janko Group overseeing the overall strategic and operational responsibility for the company’s investment and development platform. In conjunction with Gary, Richard is responsible for identifying and implementing appropriate investment and development strategies, as well as identifying appropriate capital partners for the Janko Group pipeline of deals. Richard will be managing the real estate platform for the firm, implementing investment and development strategy, and identifying capital to transact.
Richard has nearly 25 years of experience in investments, finance, and capital markets, and has invested and structured more than $5B in debt and equity capital for commercial real estate. Prior to joining Janko Group, Richard served as Director of Capital Markets for the Opus Group, where he was responsible for diversifying the sources and types of capital available to fund new development projects, and helping identify investment and development opportunities across the country. Before Opus, Richard served as Director of Acquisitions for Mansur & Company, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm, where he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting and negotiating equity investments in commercial real estate projects across the country. Richard previously served as Vice President, Acquisitions, at ORIX Real Estate Capital, Inc. where he structured joint venture equity transactions with operating partners and developers, and ran the net lease investment platform. He has also served in capital markets roles at Cohen Financial and Jones Lang LaSalle and worked in investment banking for Prudential Securities and William Blair & Company.
Richard holds Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University. He received a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Master of Public Policy from The Harris School of Public Policy Studies at The University of Chicago.
