Greg Spanos is Managing Director for Janko Group with responsibilities in both real estate development and investment. Greg focuses on sourcing and closing value-add real estate investments and executing complex development projects. Since joining Janko Group, Greg has been responsible for the acquisition, disposition, development, and redevelopment of more than $300 million of real estate projects.
In addition to his investment and development responsibilities, Greg serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for Janko Hospitality, LLC, an affiliated hotel management company, where he oversees growth of the hotel portfolio through strategic acquisition and development. The firm operates hotels in multiple markets across all major brands including Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, and Choice Hotels. Previously, Greg served as Regional Vice President at New Century Financial Corporation where he managed mortgage banking production across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States.
Greg earned a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He also completed the IHG Real Estate Development Certification Program at Cornell University, and holds a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and NAIOP. Greg volunteers for the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Feed My Starving Children organization. Greg enjoys time with his family, golf, downhill skiing, and platform tennis. As a competitive baseball player, he was a member of the 2002-2004 Greek National Baseball Team.
