Open Lands of Lake Forest owned a 25-acre site on Westleigh Road In a charming area, with a rural feel, in the central part of Lake Forest. To raise funds for other acquisitions, Open Lands approached Janko Group to purchase five acres for residential development.

Results
Janko Group is in the process of securing approval from the City of Lake Forest for 9 single-family lots surrounded by 20-acres of open space. It is intended that Meritus Homes, a Janko Group affiliate, will build smaller custom homes (2500 — 3500 SF) targeting downsizers seeking first-floor master bedrooms, a maintenance free community and a small lot (0.3-acres) with private backyards overlooking the open spaces. Construction will begin in the year following city council approval, which is expected in 2017.
